Support That Creates Stability
Foster Kinship’s nationally recognized, evidence-based model helps families strengthen stability before crisis escalates.
In 2025, families working with Foster Kinship reported meaningful progress in:
Families gained critical legal protections including guardianship, licensing, or adoption to create long-term stability for children.
Families accessed financial benefits, emergency resources, and practical support to help meet children’s everyday needs.
Families were connected to critical resources including mental health services, healthcare, extracurricular activities, and parenting education.
Caregivers strengthened their support systems through one-on-one peer support, support groups, family events, and respite care.
Keeping Families Together Before Crisis Escalates
Foster Kinship operates one of the nation’s few evidence-based kinship navigator models, recognized by the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse and replicated in multiple states.
Independent evaluation found that participating families were:
3.4x more likely to become licensed kinship caregivers
helping them access additional supports and resources for the children in their care.
Nearly 3x more likely to maintain stable placements
reducing disruptions that can further traumatize children.
2.5x more likely to access Child-Only TANF benefits
helping families secure financial support to meet children’s basic needs.
The research shows it: Children stay with family. Families become stronger. Foster care becomes less necessary.

When April's 10-month-old granddaughter was removed and placed in foster care, she stepped in without experience navigating the child welfare system. Within six weeks of connecting with Foster Kinship, she became licensed, secured subsidy, arranged daycare, and stabilized her home while working full-time.
As her family navigated reunification, recovery, and changing family dynamics, Foster Kinship remained a source of support and connection.
