Volunteers help Foster Kinship create a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment for the children and caregivers we serve.
Whether you are sorting donations, helping at a family event, or supporting behind the scenes, your time helps children feel cared for and families feel less alone.

Support Marcie’s Heart Donation Center

Description: Help accept, sort, organize, clean, and prepare donated clothing, shoes, diapers, hygiene items, and other essentials for kinship families.
Frequency: Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10AM-12PM and 1PM-3PM.
Help at Foster Kinship Events

Description: Support family events by helping with set-up, games, activities, food, check-in, clean-up, and other event needs.
Frequency:
- Springtime Block Party every May
- Halloween Trunk-or-Treat every October
- Winter Wishes Christmas Campaign every November through December
- Other events as they are scheduled!

Volunteer Process
Complete the Online Application
Tell us about yourself, your interests, your availability, and why you want to volunteer with Foster Kinship.
Background Check
After we review your application, Foster Kinship will complete the required background check.
Approval Email
Once approved, you will receive an email inviting you to schedule a volunteer shift.
When you arrive for your first shift, you will sign the volunteer agreement and receive any instructions needed for your role.

We welcome volunteers from many different backgrounds and experiences!
To help ensure a safe and supportive environment for the families we serve:
Kinship caregivers, adoptive parents, and birth parents who have successfully completed their case plan are warmly encouraged to volunteer after services conclude. We deeply value lived experience and welcome opportunities for former participants to stay connected!
