Christine Smedes

Christine has been part of the Foster Kinship team since March 20, 2023. After learning about Foster Kinship’s mission, she felt deeply called to serve. Born to young parents who struggled to raise four children, Christine was raised by her grandparents while her siblings were placed with other relatives. When those family members lacked the necessary financial resources and support, her siblings eventually entered foster care.

These early life experiences fuel Christine’s passion and commitment to preserving family bonds and preventing sibling separation whenever it is safe to do so. Her personal journey gives her a deep understanding of the importance of keeping children connected to their family and culture, and it shapes the compassion and dedication she brings to her work every day.
