Shannon joined Foster Kinship after discovering a mission that closely reflected her own personal journey. Originally from Southern California, she moved to Las Vegas in 2021 and found a meaningful connection to Foster Kinship through her lived experience with adoption. Inspired by the organization’s commitment to strengthening families, she knew Foster Kinship was the right place to combine her passion for supporting children and empowering caregivers.

Shannon began her career at Foster Kinship as a Child & Youth Intervention Advocate, where she developed trauma-informed programs that help children build confidence, resilience, and healthy social-emotional skills. She enjoys creating engaging curriculum, educational resources, and hands-on activities that strengthen connections between children and their caregivers. She is also a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), providing families with education and support to help keep children safe.

Now serving on the Family Advocate Team through the Kinship Navigator Program, Shannon supports caregivers by connecting them with resources, navigating services, and offering encouragement during challenging times. Through her work with families, she has witnessed the strength and resilience of kinship caregivers and understands that supporting caregivers is just as important as supporting children. She believes every child deserves opportunities to grow, heal, and thrive, and that when caregivers are equipped with the right tools, resources, and community, families are better able to succeed together.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys arts and crafts, designing educational resources, spending time with family, and preparing to welcome her daughter, Sage.
