Nurture Groups provide children and youth with safe, supportive small group experiences designed to build connection, coping skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships. These groups are rooted in trauma-informed care and help children practice skills that support healing, confidence, and long-term well-being.
Children who have experienced trauma, separation, grief, or major family changes may need extra support as they learn how to trust, connect, and manage big feelings.
Foster Kinship’s Nurture Groups provide structured small group experiences where children and youth can build skills in a safe, caring, and trauma-informed environment.
Nurture Groups may help children and youth:
Activities are designed to be age-appropriate, engaging, and supportive of each child’s developmental needs.
Children and youth are given space to learn and practice skills that support healing and resilience. They are not expected to have everything figured out. Instead, they are supported as they build trust, confidence, and connection over time.
When children strengthen emotional and relational skills, the entire family benefits. Nurture Groups can complement caregiver education, behavioral support, and other family services by helping children practice the same types of regulation and connection skills caregivers are learning.
Healing happens through safe relationships. Nurture Groups help children experience connection, belonging, and support while developing skills that can carry into home, school, and community life.
