Teen Advocacy gives young people opportunities to share their experiences, build leadership skills, and help shape systems that impact children, youth, and families. This service supports youth and teens with lived experience in kinship care, foster care, guardianship, adoption, or other non-parental care arrangements.
Young people deserve a voice in the systems and decisions that affect their lives. Foster Kinship’s Teen Advocacy opportunities help youth and teens build confidence, connection, and leadership while using their lived experience to create meaningful change.
Teen Advocacy may include youth advisory opportunities, leadership development, peer connection, advocacy education, and participation in conversations about improving services for children and families.
Youth and teens may have lived experience with kinship care, foster care, adoption, guardianship, or family separation. Their perspectives are essential to improving the systems that serve children and families.
Through Teen Advocacy, young people can:

Teen Advocacy is part of Foster Kinship’s commitment to supporting youth as they prepare for adulthood, build confidence, and develop the tools they need to shape their own futures.
